It would be useful to retrieve the history of any given page. This should probably be limited to only one page at a time. For example, it could be an additional field added to the result of pages.get_one.
The info posted below is intended as a starting point for some discussion, just as some suggestions to get us talking about how this could be done.
As part of the page.get_one results…
Key: "history"
Value: Array of page revisions
Each page revision is a data dictionary, with these fields:
- Key: "revision" (revision number)
- Key: "updated_at" (date of revision)
- Key: "flags" (e.g. 'S' for source change, 'T' for title change, 'N' for new page, 'M' for meta data change, etc. — stored in an array)
- Key: "content" (source code at the time of the revision)
- Key: "html" (html at the time of the revision)
Of course, this depends on how much time/processing it costs to generate this information - especially if the page has several hundred revisions.
An alternative would be to use a completely separate method for this, but I'm not sure what to call it. pages.get_history, perhaps?
